PASS AmeriCorps

VCHS Welcomes PASS Americorps

PASS (Promoting Achievement & Student Success) is a leadership and mentoring program that aims to help students make positive choices.  The PASS AmeriCorps mentors serve as positive role models and are trained and placed at school sites, providing individual and group mentoring, discussions, tutoring, grades and attendance reviews, community service projects, guest speakers, and field trips. Students are mentored to become positive leaders in their school and community. The sky is the limit for our PASS AmeriCorps students!

Please Note:  The PASS AmeriCorps mentors will be providing services on site at Valley Center High School everyday in Room 411.

PASS Americorps Mentor - Ms. Zuzanna

Thank you all for the warm welcome to be part of the team! I was originally born in Poland, where I lived for 11 years and attended school! In the 6th grade, I moved to the United States and lived in East San Diego for 8 years. I attended UC San Diego, where I earned a BA in Psychology and Minor in Sociology. Prior to working with PASS and while in college, I held an internship with the Friday Night Live Program where my passion for working with students began. I really enjoy serving in a school setting and have previously worked at EJE Academies, Meridian Elementary School, and The Preuss School, UCSD.  In my free time, I really enjoy reading; I am almost done with the Hunger Games series :) .

I am so excited to be a part of Valley Center High School and to provide the PASS AmeriCorps Program! This is my second year as a PASS AC Mentor. Last year I served at Valley Center MS, so I am familiar with many of our freshman. About me… I earned my BA in Philosophy and Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Some of my hobbies include hiking, teaching yoga, and spending time with my family. I look forward to working together with the staff and students, as well as establishing PASS that helps students succeed and creates a positive and inspirational school environment!
